Our FREE park sessions are among most enjoyable activities run by the college. These sessions give our students the opportunity to practice Tai Chi and Qigong in the open air, in natural surroundings. They bring together past and present students, Instructors and the Masters from all of our centres and have been attended by many people over the years.
We run a variety of park sessions throughout the year:
- Park Lessons with the Masters
- World Tai Chi and Qigong Day
- Weekend Practice Sessions
- Summer Park Sessions
Everyone is welcome to join in! If you have never done Tai Chi or Qigong before and you want to find out the health benefits of doing these centuries-old exercises, then you are most welcome to give it a try. Just come to a park session near you!
Park Lessons with the Masters
At the end of our class terms, we have two free park lessons lead by our Masters and Senior Instructors. These lessons run for two hours and are an opportunity for students to practice what they have learnt during the term. If you have never done Tai Chi before, then you are most welcome to join in an introduction free park class and enjoy a demonstration by the Masters.
World Tai Chi and Qigong Day
Every year, we hold a free park lesson to celebrate World Tai Chi and Qigong Day. This special day is celebrated across the world to acknowledge in a major way the health benefits of doing Tai Chi and Qigong and sharing the enjoyment of doing these exercises with everyone who joins us!
Weekend Practice Sessions
On the weekend, we offer regular free practice sessions in various parks across Melbourne which run all year round. These sessions are popular with our present and past students who want to have additional practice of their Tai Chi and Qigong routines, including weapons.
So if you want additional practice to help you remember a routine, or want to catch up socially and regularly with Tai Chi friends, or just simply find this to be a great opportunity to practice Tai Chi and Qigong to improve your health and wellbeing, then please join in. You don't have to stay for the whole session, just stay for as long as you want and for the routines that you want to practice.
Summer Park Sessions
During the summer, we hold Tai Chi and Qigong sessions in parks across Melbourne that are free for everybody. These sessions are similar to our Weekend Practice Sessions, but are mainly held on weekdays during the summer break when there are no classes.
