Reflections on 2020

Unexpectedly, the year 2020 has turned out to be a challenging year for all of us as we had to change the way we live our lives to help reduce the spread of Covid-19 virus. At the start of this year, we would not have expected it to turn out the way it has. The global and local events of 2020 reflect the Tai Chi philosophy, as revealed in The Book of Changes (I Ching), which states that nothing stays static and that our lives are always changing.

We do not know what lies ahead and no one can predict the future, but I encourage everyone to be positive and to do things that will improve and stimulate your health and your state of mind. During this difficult time, we have not been able to run our regular indoor classes, but we have provided many free resources to allow you to continue practising Tai Chi and Qigong from the safety of your home. So, take advantage of our free online videos and Zoom classes, and attend our free park sessions whenever they are allowed to be run.

I want to thank the college Teaching Team for providing online videos and running online classes and park sessions during this year to help support YOU, our students, keep fit, healthy and active. I want to commend you all for your commitment to continue doing Tai Chi and Qigong with us during these difficult times.

I am hoping that next year the Covid-19 situation is greatly improved and that we can start running our regular indoor classes as well as our special Master classes. This year is our 30th Anniversary and we were hoping to hold special events during the year to celebrate this amazing milestone, but now we hope and expect to run these events next year. So, please check our website and Facebook to keep up to date with our upcoming events and stay in touch.

Senior Master Chin Min Lian and I wish you all, our students and our Teaching Team, a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I look forward to seeing everyone return to our classes and events next year.

Yours in Tai Chi and Qigong,
Grand Master Eng Chor Khor
