It started over thirty years ago with a fascination for oriental martial arts, in particular the unique style and abilities of Bruce Lee. Wally was absorbed with the inner strength that could be harnessed and used in an external or internal manner. Several years later he commenced Tai Chi and got ‘hooked’.

Wally has been a passionate practitioner of Taijiquan for over twenty-five years and has been a qualified instructor with Celestial Tai Chi College for over twenty years. He is a Senior Instructor with the College, a position he has held for more than a decade. He has studied both here and in Wudang, China and has a considerable understanding of both Taijiquan and Qigong. He is also a musician and often the music that you hear in the sessions is his. He has also had the honour of participating as a judge in several Tai Chi and Wushu competitions.

Many of our regular students will know Wally from the Malvern Park lessons at which he regularly teaches.

Diane Wilkinson has also been a keen practitioner for over twenty-five years, and has also been a qualified instructor for over twenty years. She studied in Wudang, China and has a sound understanding of Taijiquan and Qigong.

Wally and Diane are supported by a dedicated team of instructors.

Wednesday nights at Brighton are enjoyable! There is an air of relaxation and good humour which is shared by all. This is evidenced by many of the second hour (advanced) students who have been attending the Brighton Centre for over a decade, some for over two decades!
