Public Performances by the Celestial Tai Chi College

Since its establishment 36 years ago, the Celestial Tai Chi College has been invited to perform at various functions throughout the Melbourne area and also internationally.

Over the years Instructors and students have performed Tai Chi and Qigong routines including weapons at various Local Government Festivals, Chinese New Year Festivals, International Race Days at Moonee Valley, School Fairs, WTQA (Wushu, Tai Chi, Qigong Australia) Festivals, opening of the World Judo Championship in Melbourne, and one year as part of the Moomba Parade. I remember we had to devise and learn a walking Tai Chi Routine to enable our group to convey the elements of Tai Chi and Qigong to the masses of crowds lining the Moomba route as we walked along. What an experience!

Internationally, Grand Master Eng Chor Khor has conducted many cultural overseas tours for students and Instructors and often these have included performances. Lately these tours have been arranged to align with the International Martial Arts Games held every 2 years and the College is always invited to perform on this international arena.

At the start of 2026 we were invited to perform at a celebration of Chinese New Year (Year of the Horse) at the Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre. Performances of the Lotus, Lohan, Fan and Celestil Tai Chi Routines were enthusiastically received by the audience.

This was a magnificent start to our Tai Chi year.
