Reflections on 2025

The Celestial Tai Chi College is one of the oldest Tai Chi schools in Victoria and is also one of the largest. There are 15 Centres ranging across the area from Hoppers Crossing to Rosebud and Eltham to St Kilda with Rosebud starting this year. Next year there will be an additional class at Chelsea Heights.

Once again students and Instructors represented the College at the WTQA (Wushu, Tai Chi, Qigong, Australia) Festival performing 2 routines to an audience from 14 other schools showcasing the quality of our Tai Chi and Qigong.

Grand Master Eng Chor Khor and Senior Master Chin Min Lian have trained over 50 Instructors and there are 7 training sessions held throughout the year and this ensures the high quality of teaching at each Centre. All Instructors are dedicated to the learning and upgrading the quality of their Tai Chi and Qigong and to the College and imparting that knowledge to their students.

The Masters meet with the College’s Senior Instructors (Belinda Leong, Margaret Rogers, Noel and Yvonne Schmidt) 3 times a year to discuss College affairs and to obtain feedback from students and the teaching staff which is an added benefit to the successful running of the College.

The Masters also run 2 Qigong Workshops and one Philosophy Workshop every year as well 2 Park Lessons at the end of every term. This year the Tai Chi Retreat was held after a gap of several years. Students and Instructors attending the sold-out retreat enjoyed learning the intricacies of Tai Chi and Qigong from our knowledgeable Masters’ as well as making new Tai Chi friends.

The annual College Banquet will be held in December at which Amanda Cubit and Len Lock from the Camberwell Centre will be appointed as Assistant Instructors. The Banquet ends the extensive program of the Tai Chi year with free park lessons being held over the Christmas break.

Unfortunately hire charges on the halls used by the College are increasing and so fees for next year will increase to $90 and $80 for those with Health Care cards although the single session fees will remain the same as this year.

Classes will resume on Monday 2 February, 2026.

On behalf of Grand Master Eng Chor, Senior Master Chin Min and all the teaching staff, I wish everyone peace, goodwill, good health and happiness over the festive season and we look forward to practicing our Tai Chi and Qigong with you next year.
