Why Tai Chi?

I recently commenced Tai Chi classes in Doncaster after a long hiatus (at least 20 years!). In the past I had mastered a different form but family life got in the way. Now retired in my 60’s, I already do strength training to assist with my ageing bones but I felt I needed something to enhance flexibility and balance.

The fact that I recall very little of the form from yesteryear showed me that not only is Tai Chi a gentle but excellent workout for the body, the need to remember the quite intricate movements means it is a brain workout as well.

I have to say, I am enjoying the class immensely and find the limbering up movements at the start of class calming for the mind and stimulating for the body.

I also enjoy the different instructors and what each bring to the experience. Here’s hoping I can eventually master this form.
