Camberwell Centre

The Camberwell Centre is located the Lynden Park Scout Hall, Stornoway Road Camberwell. Lynden Park runs between Highfield Road and Stornoway Road. Our classes are held on Monday mornings for an hour from 10.30. When we break up into our small teaching groups to cater for students of all abilities and levels, we use the lovely lawn area out the front and enjoy tai chi in the fresh air.
The Centre is run by Instructor Christina Koh with wonderful support from Assistant Instructor Pavla Rada and Trainee Instructor Amanda Cubit. We regularly get together to plan and discuss how best to teach our students, and attend regular Instructor Training from Grandmaster Eng Chor and Senior Master Chin Min as well as Supplementary Training with Senior Instructors. These sessions help us improve our Tai Chi and are always thought provoking and informative. Tai Chi improves the mind as well as the body!
We love teaching people of all ages and abilities and are all very practised at modifying moves to make them more achievable and comfortable for those with physical limitations. Beginners are welcome any time and we run a permanent revision class for those who would like to continue to learn more about Yang style, but don’t want to learn a new form.
We teach advanced tai chi and qigong forms for an extra half hour from 11.30 – 12.00 noon. In addition to Yang 108 Tai Chi we offer Beijing 24, Tao Yin Qigong, Warrior Lohan Qigong, Shibashi Qigong sets 1, 2 and 3, Beijing 42, Ba Duan Jin and the Taiji Stick.
