Mawang Dui Health Qigong Workshop

Join Snr Master Chin Min of Celestial Tai Chi College as he shares with you Mawang Dui Health Qigong and reap the benefits of his skills and wisdom!

This beautiful health Qigong routine is created and compiled by the Health Qigong Administration Center of the General Administration of Sports in China. Exercises are based on the Daoyin Tu (Daoyin Chart), unearthed from a Han Dynasty tomb at the Mawangdui site in Changsha (Hunan Province, China) in 1973 and hence the name of this qigong routine.

Mawang Dui is mainly characterised by guiding of the energy flow along meridian channels and synchronising mental and physical activity - the mind and the body. The movements were designed to cultivate one’s overall wellbeing. They focus on opening and closing, ascending and descending, rotating and revolving, bending and stretching of the body, its tendons and bones. Some of the special features of these exercises are their striking simplicity and elegant postures.

Mawang Dui graceful movements are easy to learn yet their function is to assist in restoring health, strengthening the body and calming the mind. They are suitable for people of all ages and effective in maintaining good health and promoting longevity.
